One minute we’re racing ahead. The next, we’re standing still, waiting for the soil to dry up. Too much rain means tractors stay parked, and we’re stuck watching the skies more than we’d like.
That said, the vines are loving it. Lots of water = lots of vigour.
So far, we’re keeping things tidy. No major concerns yet, but when cool and wet turns humid, that’s when disease starts sniffing around. So, we’re watching.
Meanwhile, there’s plenty happening inside.
🍷In the the Cellar: Big Reds & Local Grit
We’re getting ready to bottle the2023 Bordeaux-style blend. It’s deep, structured, and one of the best we’ve put together so far.
Also hitting the bottling line this month: our first-ever small lot ofPetit Verdot. This one’s special. The fruit came fromKen Hunter, a great local grower.
His vineyard’s just down the road from us on Hunter Road. The wine’s got grip, lift, and a whole lot of character!
